Tim Sweeting is an independent director at Chartered Financial Partners. Tim has over 30 years of experience in financial markets including over 10 years acting as an independent director to hedge funds and private equity funds and serves on the board of funds managed by several notable investment managers. He has an extensive understanding of the alternative investments industry, with previous experience in the seeding of hedge funds, capital raising, derivatives and clearing.

Tim moved to the Cayman Islands in 2013 to act as an independent director and founded Atlantic Directors. He was formerly Head of Alternatives at Ignis Asset Management, which he joined in 2008 to build a series of hedge fund joint ventures. Prior to this, he was Managing Director, Head of Absolute Return Strategies at Credit Suisse Asset Management and before that Managing Director and Head of European and Middle East Sales at Deutsche Asset Management’s hedge fund business. He has also held senior roles at UBS Alternative and Quantitative Investments/UBS O’Connor and at HSBC Investment Bank, where he was Global Head of Business Development for Equity and Listed Derivatives.
